A prizewinner in several international competitions, among others 1st Prize in the Brescia International Competition and 1st Prize of the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition (as a member of Trio Ligeti).In the last years she was invited to perform in important chamber music Festivals like: „Mont Fuji have Festival“, „Folles Journées de Nantes“, KuhmoFestival(Finland), SangatFestival(Bombay)Menuhin Festival (Gstadt) Open Chamber Music in Prussia Cove etc…She had the opportunity to enrich her artistic experience playing chamber music with great artists such as Joshua Bell, Carolin Widmann, Charles Neidich, Alberto Lysy, Rafael Oleg, Bruno Giurana, Anthony Marwood.
CD recordings with works of Françaix, Reger, Dohnany, Schumann, Fauré , Franck, Chausson been released by Ars, Leman Calssics, Arion , Alpheé. And Orion. Her last recording, the integrale of Schumann string quartets have been very warmly received by the international musical reviews.
Since 2004 she is a profesor in Music Academy Basel teaching Viola and Chamber music as well.

Silvia Simionescu, international well-known violist is sharing her musical life between chamber music and teaching.Her carrier brings her to most well -know halls in the world as Chatelet in paris Auditorium in Barcelona, Bolshoi Theater in St Petersbourg and Alte oper in Frankfurt.
Born in Bucharest, Romania, Silvia Simionescu took up playing the violin at the age of seven. She joins the International Menuhin Music Academy,
